House of Balsa 1/12 Chipmunk

Built/ flown by Bruce Utne
Bruce hasn't had a chance to fly his Chipmunk yet, but it looks like it will do just fine. He said that he thought the kit was fairly easy to build. Bruce put an AP Hornet in the nose. I'm very interested to see how she flys.

Well Bruce brought the Chipmunk to the field on Sunday, February 6th. Unfortunately, he couldn't fly it because he lost a blind nut on the cowl.

Hobbico Avistar 40 MKII

Built/ flown by William "Rocks" Miller

When I decided to get into flying gas models, I asked several flyers what plane I should get first. Since I already flew saiplanes, they recommended the Hobbico Avistar. I've been very pleased with its flight performance. It has enough stability to let me learn to fly powered planes, and it has enough acrobatic performance to let me learn any manuever! Powered by an OS Max 46LA it performed well, but when I slapped a 46FX in the nose she gained unlimited verticle! I'm using a Tower Hobbies System 3000 4-channel.
