Check Six Plans 2610 Mustang

Chris Sheppard's 2105 Mustang from Check Six Plans Jan 2000: I just received a great set of plans from Check Six Plans! Jack Lewis offers his CAD drawn plans, with instructions, for only 12 dollars! His package is very professional. He includes the full sized plans, nicely folded, and a 6 page instruction booklet. Also in the package is an advertisement for the rest of his plans, and a copy of the Radio Controlled Combat Association (RCCA) combat rules for 2610 and 2105 combat. The Check Six Plans' Mustang is built-up from balsa and light ply. The construction is straight forward and easy to understand. I checked some of the scale dimensions against a set of P-51D drawings I have, and found that many of the key fuselage dimensions are nearly exact!

Chris Gator Shepherd's C6 plans Mustang on final - photo by Rocks Chris Shepherd has flown several Check Six Mustangs, and at the Battle in the Park 2000, he took first place with his silver 2610 Mustang. Even after he lost a couple of inches off of his left wingtip, the plane flew beautifully. Chris says that it costs about $30 to make one of the Mustangs from Jack Lewis's plans.

Jack has done an excellent job of capturing the essence of the Mustang in a simple to follow set of plans! Jack even includes tips for strengthening the plane! I really look forward to building this beauty. Especially since its slightly larger size allows me to save money by accepting my standard sized radio gear, and my OS Max 25FX. With plans like these, it's no wonder his P-40 Warhawk was the scale winner at the 1999 NATS.
